Written in Partnership with Garth’s Brew Bar

When you find yourself on Monroe Street on the Madison’s near west side you’ll notice that it is the neighborhood hub. Full of restaurants, cafes, bakeries, boutiques and shops, Monroe Street was made for sunny days in the city. Garth’s Brew Bar lends itself well to the community as the perfect meeting point.
Garth’s 3 Tier Mission

Mission 1, Raise the bar of bars. “We’re here to do good for the people and right by the beverage.” says Garth’s. When you come in you’ll notice, it’s clean, orderly and well cared for. You’ll then notice that the staff are always warm and welcoming, befitting of the neighborhood. They’re quick with good recommendations whether it’s what is on tap or what is in the fridge.
Mission 2, Help Breweries Thrive. Garth’s is dedicating itself to the American brewery movement. In communities across the state and across the country local brewers are constantly giving back and Garth’s is paying rightful homage to their work. Local breweries often have charitable giving arms that help lift others up. Whether it’s through creation of a donation beer or giving portions of sales away. Garth’s recognizes that a good local brew can bring a community together in more way than one.
Mission 3, Bring Our Community Closer “When you come to our bar for a craft beer or specialty coffee, we hope you’ll leave feeling a stronger connection to the Madison community.” Most nights at Garth’s you’ll find friends and coworkers across their indoor and outdoor spaces with a deck of cards or board game in front of them. They’ve got a TV, it’ll play a game if it’s a big day in Wisconsin but more often than not it’s set to a fireplace which just fits this place. Garth’s is helping facilitate friendship, conversation and a deeper relationship with the community at large.
Garth’s On Tap, Garth’s In the Cooler

Garth’s is packing an option or 16 when it comes to their taps. Regularly rotating American craft beer with enough options that are sure to please a wide range of beer connoisseurs. If by some chance, those 16 aren’t doing it, head over to their cooler for an even wider range. Garth’s is friendly for the NA crowd too and has NA options whether you want a brew or a soda. I’m willing to bet they’ve got something you’ve never heard of or tried because they’re pulling brews from near and far.
But can we eat?
Yes, Garth’s has got Batch Bakehouse soft pretzels and they’re as good as you think. Pair it with cheese sauce or one of their mustards, it’s a good time. If you’re looking for something more substantial, they’ve got local Fraboni’s Pizza too! If you’ve never had Fraboni’s pizza, it’s time and Garth’s is here to help connect the dots. If neither of those are striking your fancy, Garth’s is all about the beer so you’re welcome to carry in or even have food delivered and they’ll be there to pass you a beer to go with it.
Garth’s has events
Beyond the taps and the cooler and the board game wall, Garth’s has something for you. Garth’s has a rotating tap of events that you can find out about on their instagram right here. Give them a follow for the events they’re bringing and reach out to them to host your next event in their space. At the time of writing, they’ve got a Flights and Fudge night coming up this weekend. Who want to miss out on a beer and fudge pairing night?
